读庄子

在飞机上读完《庄子》十几篇。这是头一次卖力地读国学经典。

一点点小心得:
According to Zhuangzi's book, Confucius was the one who suffered from the decline of ancient society and therefore tried to restore social conventions. But he was also the person punished by Dao. He was the criminal and he reflected the social conflict then.

This comment obviously reminds me of Nietzsche's thoughts about Socrates. There is amazing similarity. But I don't think Nietzsche's conclusion was inspired by that book. They both have the deep insights of dialectic.

No wonder in Karl Jaspers's book The Great Philosophers, both Confucius and Socrates were discussed.
